Abstract

The reception of the accusatory system in Chile provides for sundry treatments meted out to the lawsuit parties involved. Clearly, the accused is considered not an object of prosecution but a subject having the quality of someone with inalienable rights that must be respected. It is asserted that, and this is always present in political discourse, the treatment meted out to victims has also been improved. However, such a thing is not that clear. Consequently, it seems necessary to consult about their rights recognized at a legal level in order to count on an approximate dimension of the change in treatments that are being politically furthered, and it is also necessary to analyze some characteristics of the plaintiff as a lawsuit party.
