Abstract

In Spain, in 2006, comments on the Proposal for a bill to modify the Code of Commerce pertaining to the general part on commercial contracts and on time limits and limitation periods were published. The referred Commission began, simultaneously, to prepare a Project for a Code of Commerce. This leads us to assume that the 2006 Proposal shall not become a law, since the discipline therein offered shall be included in it. Nonetheless, studying this proposal is interesting not only in relation to the Spanish Law, but also in relation to all the countries that inherited the tradition of the Roman and French legal systems and, consequently, its relationship with Chile. This article presents the contents of the Proposal.
